Exhibition design seems to incorporate an ever-changing set of responsi-
bilities; in these contracting times, designers of varying backgrounds
-- ranging from architecture to graphic design to education -- may do
print, 3-D exhibit, interactive, and other sorts of design AND find
themselves acting as institutional liason to renovation and/or new-building
architects.
I'm sure AAM/NAME has some collective insight (and possibly some
publications) on the issue of museums and architects; the British "Museum
Design Group" 1994 magazine focusses on the issue, too. The Chair of the
Group, Richard Fowler -- who designed our Walk-Through Computer in 1989
-- is at Richard Fowler Associates, 4 Crown Yard, Southgate, Elland,
Yorkshire HX5 ODQ England; tel. (0422) 375680.
