2014 Summer Internship at The Gaston County Museum

Education Intern (1 position available)
May- September 2014 (30 to 40 hours per week)

HOUSING PROVIDED
The Gaston County Museum is currently seeking an education intern for Summer 2014. The education intern will work with programs staff in developing and conducting educational programs at the museum for toddlers through adults. The intern will have a special project assigned to them to be determined upon arrival. Examples of projects include research projects, summer camp development, and media and marketing.
The successful candidates will be detail oriented, organized, and able to work independently. Must be able to work with and meet deadlines, lift up to 25 pounds, and climb stairs and ladders. Preference will be given to candidates with previous museum work or course experience and/or candidates wishing to pursue a career in museums.
The internships are unpaid, but housing that is within walking distance to the museum is provided. The internship dates are flexible but will begin sometime in May 2014 and be 30 to 40 hours per week during that time. Deadline for application is April 18, 2014.
