Have you asked the printer? Since they had the samples from that far back,
I wonder if they still have the job jacket? Even if it was thrown away at
the time of donation, it could be that someone read through it and could
tell you more. Someone who still works there might remember it, too.
Besides conservation, I think knowing the print process would be an
interesting part of the artifact beyond "ink on paper".
