No, though admittedly that matches my description pretty well! It is much smaller, about 5.25 inches wide and 4 inches long and relatively flat. If you want to shoot me your email I can send you an image.

Good Morning Listers!
I have a patron that has offered us a spool of thread for our textile collection and I was wondering if anyone in the list has seen a spool of this type before and might could offer any insight into it's use, etc. It is made of a light wood, rectangular in shape, appears to be two handcarved pieces with two smaller dowls pierced through, one at each end and the thread/cord is a heavier gauge cotton. I'm told it might have come from somewhere south of the border - Central or possibly South America. No ideas on age. Based on the lack of local provenance, we are hesitant to take it, but I assured her I would do more research before making a decision. Please email me off list if you wish to see images. Any help is much appreciated!
Thanks guys!
Regan
