** 2,000-year-old bison bone site mired in controversy
About the time Christ was born and Roman legions marched on much of the
known world, hunters honed by millennia of experience trapped a snorting,
terrified herd of bison in a narrow drainage near what is now Hardin,
Montana

The fragile 18th century lady's hat, which is only one of four of its kind
in the world, has been carefully treated for pests to limit further damage

A flight suit worn by an American pilot who flew a reconnaissance mission
over Cuba in 1962 that photographed nuclear missile sites under construction
by the Soviet Union was donated Tuesday to the Smithsonian's National Air

The Penn Museum is unwrapping the mystery of mummy conservation, giving the
public an unusual close-up of researchers' efforts to preserve relics from
ancient Egypt
** Rotterdam Museum Says Deactivated Lock Helped Thieves
The Kunsthal museum in Rotterdam, facing strong criticism over its security
measures after seven valuable paintings were stolen last week, on Monday
issued a statement explaining that the thieves were able to snatch the
