Sarah, the matter that concerns you should be central to a museum's thoughts, and there will be many aspects (and possible sources) to consider. At the same time, your question does not indicate how much time you may have before you are expected to get into your exhibition development. However, as a start, you may want to look at 'Mastering a Museum Plan - Strategies for Exhibit Development'. This publication, of 2007, is distributed by AltaMira Press, and was also reviewer here:
http://recollections.nma.gov.au/issues/vol_3_no_2/book_reviews/mastering_a_museum_plan/
I'm not sure that this source now considers the very latest thinking and strategies for exhibition delivery, but it does provide a good, general background for you to consider, including many of the possible parallel things that might be deliberated when an exhibit presentation is being set out. The personal experience of visitors, both 'in situ' and online, may need more thought by you.
