The Museum Division of the Mississippi Department of Archives & History
has some artifacts available that have been deaccessioned:
Moccasins, cap, and papoose; records state from Sioux and Chippewa
Indians (loaned prior to 1962)
65 objects from the South Seas (loaned in1926)
All objects were Unclaimed Loans with all steps of the Mississippi
Unclaimed Property Act being followed. Our Board recently approved the
deaccessioning and now I am just following that last step--to find them
a new home. If your institution is interested, please contact me for
more information.
Thanks!
