I have been asked to coordinate an informal and
non-technical workshop on Museums and the Internet for the
Museums Council of New York City. The Museums Council is a
50-year old, pretty casual networking group for museum
professionals in the City, of which I am vice-chair. For
those of you who don't know about it, only institutions can
join, not individuals. If you work in a museum in the City,
in all likelihood the institution *is* a member, and you can
ask your business office about the Council.
In any case, if we can pull this workshop off, it would be
good to have things like screen shots and printed
descriptions of internet resources in general, and museum
resources on the net in particular. I would also be
interested in hearing about people who might be good
panelist participants. Absolutely no budget for this, but it
should be a good opportunity to meet and greet. Currently
planned for January, tho may be postponed until March.
Please feel free to respond privately, if you prefer, or on
the list.
