The August/September issue of Historic Preservation News has an
article called "Going National: The fight against Disney's
America expands into a national campaign against sprawl's
destruction of history."
The July/August issue of Museum News features articles on the
"Information Superhighway." Museum-l is discussed.
Sunday's (August 7th) New York Times Arts & Leisure section
has an article called "The Pixels and Perils of Getting Art
On Line." The Travel section of the same paper gives a long
and very positive review of the new Pacific Northwest Museum
of Natural History in Ashland, Oregon.
The 3 featured articles in the June issue of Museum Anthropology
are "Ethnicity in a Museum Case: France's Show-Window in the
Americas", "Gods in the Machine at the Palais de Chaillot"
and "Scholarship Versus Showmanship at Hawaii's Bishop Museum:
Reflections of Cultural Hegemony." There is also an exhibition
review of Museum Europa; Mongols; Peoples of the World; and
Ethnographic Treasure Rooms, The Danish National Museum, Copenhagen.
