Thanks everyone for their suggestions. I'm still pondering this. I do know that the humidity balance is off in that case, so that will be fixed. As for the objects, I will continue to try to get as much of the white and crystal-looking patches off and will refrain from adding any type of wax to the leather. A theory was brought up to me though. This professional said that leather needs to be "fed" to keep it supple and "happy." He suggested neetsfoot oil. What do you all think of that?
