Hi all,
Do you know of good scholarship or popular articles on the Paris
Colonial Exposition of 1931, Museum of the Colonies / National Museum
of African and Oceanic Arts of 1931-2003, and the Quai Branly Museum
of 2003-present? As you know, each of these institutions replaced the
earlier one. I want to use them as a case study in a class that I am
teaching in the fall, to show how museums have interpreted colonial
material at different points in time. It will also obviously be a
great way to show how the missions of museums change. If you send
references to me privately I would be happy to copy and paste them all
into a bibliography and send it to the list. Thanks in advance for
your thoughts.
Travis
