Afternoon List,
We have a local resident who owns a Samoan rug that was given to her father during the war. He was teaching some of the natives the basics of electricity and they gave it to him as a gift sometime between 1941-1945. It is apparently made of tree fibers and dyed with the leaves from the local trees. The donor is looking for a permanent home for the rug in a museum that would be able to preserve and use it. Her name is Elizabeth Tooley and she can be reached at 704-864-0656 or [log in to unmask]
Thanks!
