Put something on it - a piece of needlework (with needles), a pair of kids' shoes, a book and a pair of spectacles, a bulky item of costume.

Do any of you have a good solution (that is archival, unobtrusive, and obvious) for keeping people from sitting on chairs that are part of your collection (within a historic house setting)?
