One caution: photographs. Often libraries keep older newspapers on microfilm and microfilm copies of newspaper photographs are usually of poor quality--and almost always in black-and-white [even if the original newspaper photograph was in color].
If I were you, I would at least try to keep all original newspaper photographs.
