I contact sears or one of the other department stores that have been around
a really long time and have always had catalogues for mail order. I bet they
keep a copy of each of those catalogues and would have sold at least a few
of the things on the list if not all of them.

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] Vintage Clothing Question
Good afternoon, everyone,
We are developing an exhibit celebrating the 50th anniversary of the
Tennessee sit-in movement, and I am trying to locate something for our
textile curator. She is looking for the 1960 prices for a variety of
clothing articles as part of a department store exhibit space.
I am unsure where to start. I tried internet searches, but most of
these searches yielded vintage clothing for sale with current market
prices. I have found one site, but she is specifically looking for
prices for the following types of clothing:
A woman's fancy hat
A bride's dress
A child's bridesmaid dress
A fox stole
A black wool suit
If you can point me in the right direction, I would be very grateful!
Garet
