Pittsburgh's original Buhl Planetarium and Institute of Popular Science, which was the city's primary science and technology museum from 1939 through 1991, included a small 800-volume science library. The library was accessible to students and other researchers by appointment only. There was no charge for use of the library. More info and photos:

Although the library may seem small, this was partly due to the fact that Buhl Planetarium was built just across Federal Street from the first publicly-funded Carnegie Library in America. Hence, much larger library resources were very close by.
