We have been sending an E-newsletter to teachers over the past few
years. The mailing list consists of educators who have chosen to sign
up to receive the monthly email. Last year, we saw an huge decline in #
of emails openeded after receipt and # of clickthroughs on the links in
the e-newsletter from the August issue to the September issue. This
year, we made some major revisions to to the mailing based on feedback
from educators and the August and September rates were much better,
followed by anohter drastic decline in October for # of openings and #
of clickthroughs. We are looking at a drop from over 40% to just under
15%. We're not on any current spam filter list etc. These are received
but never deleted without opening.
Does anyone else track their use of Teacher E-newsletters? How does
this compare? Does anyone know of any benchmarks for e-newsletter
reading rates?
