Time is flying!
The Canadian Art Gallery Educators 2009 Symposium "Tools for Change:
Meeting Future Challenges" on Saturday, March 28 – Tuesday, March 31,
2009 and hosted by the National Gallery of Canada and Portrait Gallery
of Canada (a program of Library and Archives Canada) in Ottawa,
Ontario is a little more than three weeks away! The symposium agenda,
registration package, and presenter biographies can all be found on
the CAGE website at www.cageart.ca.
We have a great line up of exciting presenters including:
- Dr. Marianna Adams, President, Audience Focus Inc.
- Christina Bagatavicius, Senior Manager, Bruce Mau Design
- Laurie Burdon, Principle, Learning Alternatives
- Jennifer Elliott, Manager, Interpretation, Canadian Museum of Civilization
- Judy Koke, Deputy Director, Education and Public Programming, Art
Gallery of Ontario
- Laura Stein, Senior Designer, Bruce Mau Design
We also have some wonderful site visits planned too! We have planned
a Parliamentary tour, including a talk by David Monaghan, Curator of
Collections for Parliament, about the challenges of interpreting art
in the very public spaces of the parliament. We will also have a
vault tour of the Portrait Gallery of Canada collection and a special
tour at the National Gallery of Canada. Check it all out at
