I have not heard of any studies on it, but I would not do it since we
really cannot be 100% sure that it will not cause damage over time,
especially with un-washable wool fabrics. Most likely you will just
end up with a soapy/flowery mothball smell AND have the risk of
eventual possible chemical degredation. It will air out quickly if
you can find a well ventilated place to hang them and keep them in
airy muslin covers. The smell may not be completely gone, but should
be significantly less potent within days.
