Position Description
Title: Weekend Museum Aide – Lee-Fendall House Museum
Supervisor: Executive Director
Status: Permanent Part Time – Flexible
Salary: $10 - $12 per hour
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Museum Aide is responsible for the management, security and
interpretation of the museum on weekends and during private and public
special events. Regular duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited
to, the following:
• Opening and closing of museum and garden
• Provide/assure security and oversight of facility and all museum property
• Supervision of volunteers
• Management of visitor services
• Guide tours for the general public and specialized audiences to educate them
about the museum and garden
• Management of administrative and curatorial projects as necessary
• Provide facility maintenance as necessary
• Assist with preparation and coordination of special events
• Assist with other activities upon request
Preferred Qualifications:
The Museum Aide must be flexible and willing to assist with all aspects of the
organization’s work. The Museum Aide must possess an interest in history and
a willingness to develop knowledge of the museum’s history and significance.
Excellent oral communication and decision making skills, as well as the ability to
work effectively with a wide range of people, including staff, volunteers and
the general public is important.
Must be available to work evening, weekend and holiday hours.
