Hi there:
Photolithograph is a precise way of describing a lithograph developed by using a photographic print on a plate. If you describe the piece as a "lithograph", it doesn't distinguish between a photolithograph or a stone lithograph. I've rarely seen "optical lithograph" used. Personally (and I'm currently cleaning up my list of medium descriptions as we speak!), I rely on Getty's AAT Thesaurus and have decided that "photolithograph" is a preferable way to label such works.

Hope this helps

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] Seeking alternate names for a Photolithograph!
Hi,
I am creating descriptive text for a photolithographic work, but even though
it was a limited edition of 25, I am concerned that such terms suggest the
idea of a poster.
Accordingly to wikipedia and other sources it would be appropriate to refer
to the piece as a *Lithograph *or *Optical Lithograph.*
Does anyone else have any other suggestions or resources about this?
Something which more accurately reflects this photographic process as being
photographic?
Any advice would be great.
Thank you,
Natasha
