Hi Michelle
At the National WWII Museum we have been trying to get some Victory Gardens planted but so far have had trouble getting all the elements to come together at the right time.
Our Education department also started a campaign to collect food memories from WWII

this link gives all the info. Its not quite what you asked about but it is this current interest in food and sustainability that got the ball rolling on these projects.

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] Foodways programming
Hello all,
I'm working on a presentation about the contemporary interest in food and sustainable agriculture and how museums are playing a part in reviving food traditions. I'm looking for examples of museums, particularly history museums, who have recently instituted a new food program or expanded an existing one. Particular emphasis on heirloom plants, heritage breeds, and regional food traditions and practices.
Thank you for any information you can offer on what museums are doing such programming!
