Sadly, the information in the first line has been updated by further news but I thought I'd following up yesterday morning's messages with this information from a German archivist who posted it on Archives & Archivists List yesterday. People may be interested in the links to organizations providing aid for the victims in L'Aquila and Abruzzo at the end of Klaus' messages.

More than 100 people died in a strong earthquake in Central Italy
(region of Abruzzo).
