There's a terrific small book available from the American Association of
Museums called "Standards Manual for Signs and Labels" that might be just
the ticket. I found it very helpful, especially regarding the area you are
interested in. (And it was in a local university library.)

Hello,
Does anyone have any policies they can share in regard to the Americans with
Disabilities Act stating how large the font on labels should be and the
placement of labels, etc.? I am on a fact finding mission.
