Museum Educator, Full-time
The Museum seeks an energetic educator for an active education
department. This person is responsible for teaching inquiry-based, hands-on
art and science programs for both museum-based and outreach programs in
area schools. The Educator is expected to be able to teach all programs as
well as develop new programs with assistance of Museum Education
Department staff. Additional responsibilities include maintenance of teaching
materials, responsibility for the use of the Museum’s two vehicles, assisting
with the Museum’s Docent training program, and the Jr. Educator program
supervising and training high school museum instructors.
Teaching experience, and a Bachelor’s degree in education, science, art,
museum studies or related field, is required. Valid driver’s license, unattended
mobility in object handling, and the ability to drive the museum vehicles and
visit facilities unequipped to accommodate the physically challenged are
necessary.
