The best advice I could share would be to contact Beth Merritt at the
AAM, I took a course with her a couple of years back on developing
scope statements and it was particularly useful. In my view a well
defined scope of collections statement is crucial to developing a
meaningful collection and clearly articulating its merits to
stakeholders and audience alike while helping to guide issues of
collection growth and use.
