Department Head, Contemporary Indian Art, New York/London
For our international auction house client, we are seeking a Head of
Contemporary Indian Art situated in London or New York. The successful
candidate will act as the primary business-getter for department in UK, Asia
and the USA, with focus on high-value property and developing long-term
client relationships with collectors and museums; manage staff; develop
business, sales and marketing strategies and maintain profitability; write
catalogue entries; other duties as assigned. The ideal applicant will have a
BA in Art History or Decorative Arts, M.A preferred; significant expertise
in the field of Contemporary Indian Art, with an emphasis on developing
trends; a minimum of 10 years paid work experience in an art gallery or
auction house; and excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Hindi
and other languages a plus. Salary to 85K with excellent benefits. Please
