Hello,
We have in our collection a mineral specimen labeled as "Photocite (manganese metasilicate)". One side looks like a large cluster of dark green crystals, while the other side looks like any regular rock. The crystals fluoresce bright purple under UV light.
We have been unable to find any information on Photocite. The only reference I can find on manganese metasilicate looks completely different from our specimen.
Does anyone have any information on Photocite? Or suggestions for mineral references that I should consult?
Much thanks!
Sarah Swain
