Sales Director, New York City Art Gallery
For our renowned New York City contemporary gallery client we are seeking a
Sales Director.  The successful applicant will work with a team of Sales
Directors and support staff to achieve the following: work to market
individual artists to private, corporate and museum clients; oversee the
launching of new artists; liaise with curators to contribute to catalogues,
lectures and similar programs; oversee visits to artists' studios; help
establish pricing strategies; participate in art fairs and related events;
other duties as necessary.  The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years
experience in a contemporary art gallery or auction house with a focus on
international contemporary art.  Execellent communications, organizational
and project management skills are essential.  BA and knowledge of art
history required; languages a plus.  Salary from 65K with 10% commission and
