by a small delegation of curators from the Kurdistan region
** Cracks threaten Rome's majesty
One of the latest closures came in November 2005, when a 16th-Century wall
collapsed without warning in a well-visited area, near the Emperor Tiberius'

** Hidden gems of Hunterian to go on show for first time
Hunter's wide variety of collections, career and tastes, are evident in a
series of dinosaur exhibits, an armoury of native weapons, a bewil-dering
array of medical specimens in jars, the skeleton of an elephant and the
first scale model of the original neo- classical Hunterian Museum, which
stood on the city's High Street
** Long-stored works part of major Getty restoration
Mark Leonard, head of paintings conservation at the Getty, said the roots of
the project date back to 2001, when members of the Getty staff were invited
to visit several former East German museums

** 4,000 artefacts confiscated in Denmark returned to Afghan museum
About 4,000 artefacts seized by border police in Denmark have been returned
to the National Museum of Afghanistan, the Danish prime minister said during
a visit to Kabul.

public vitriol against the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum

The Mariners' Museum is seeking $1.35 million in damages from its former
chief archivist, who is accused of stealing and selling archived items
belonging to the museum
