Tacoma Art Museum spearheaded a project with other venues throughout
Tacoma to offer a cell-phone-based tour of the Dale Chihuly glass artwork in
the museum and throughout the downtown.
We worked with Museum411 (http://museum411.com/) on the project. It's
nice because we do not have to worry about audio equipment rentals,
maintenance, and theft. People typically know how to use their own phones
so there is less need to teach people. Because it's on the cell phone people
can leave the museum to explore the public art in the city at any hour,
depsite if the museum is open or not.
