The way AAM staff advised us in our self-study was as follows:
Ultimate governing authority: University of Alaska Board of Regents
Head of governing authority: President of the University of Alaska
Effective governing authority: Chancellor of University of Alaska Fairbanks;
Provost of UAF
Our director is granted authority for the day-to-day operations by the
Chancellor and Provost.
As an FYI, AAM staff are aware that University museums have a special
problem in describing our governance structure and getting that structure to
work as a true governing body, and so they're working on producing a guide
to help us out with some of these issues.
Good luck,
Angela
