In response to your question, yes, there can be a benefit to
paticipating with an online donation vendor even if your museum website
is already set up for e-commerce. Most third-party online donation sites
allow potential donors to search according to their interests,
geography, etc. meaning that people who don't already know about your
organization can find you. Relying solely on e-commerce from your
website means that you pretty much only have your regular audience as
your potential donations pool.
