The New York State Museum, a division of the New York State Education
Department is seeking applicants for the position of cleaner for its
artifact storage facility in the Rotterdam Industrial Park. Under the
supervision of museum staff, the responsibilities of this job will
include:
* Vacuum or dust artifact surfaces.
* Work with museum staff in moving artifacts in order to reach all
materials.
Museum staff will be present to advice on the proper cleaning methods
and to manage artifact movement and handling.
The position will require the use ladders and lifts to reach artifacts
on high shelving units.
There are no education or experience requirements. Applicants must be
physically able to perform medium to heavy physical labor and must be
able to stand, stoop, bend and stretch for long periods of time.
Preference will be given to candidates with some experience working with
museum artifacts.
Grade 5, Salary $23,119 per year
