Under general supervision, assists in developing and implementing innovative
interpretive and educational programs, special tours, activities and events to
the public. This includes family and adult programs, teen and pre-school
activities, bilingual programs, lectures, and films, workshops and seasonal
events. Markets and publicizes programs; works with media and newspapers;
develops flyers and brochures; works with education and outreach staff on
program development, marketing and coordination. Under supervision,
oversees specialty programs such as scout programs, aviation birthday
parties, Peter Pan Club, Teen Advisory Council, museum traveling exhibit and
others, along with their promotion. Helps coordinate ordering of supplies and
materials for programs, processing donor requests for admissions, and handles
public inquiries and registration for programs.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in history, American studies, museum studies,
archaeology, education, historic preservation, or a related field; and
2. One year of related experience; or
3. An equivalent combination of education and experience.
4. Valid driver’s license, or the ability to acquire one.
