For conservation reasons we have reduced all lighting in the mansion to 15W
or 25W (except a few carbon-filament bulbs that are 40W-60W on the third
floor). For the 15W bulbs, we have used a special converter that permits a
candelabra bulb to fit in a standard Edison socket. Conservation and light
levels were the motivation, but I can't imagine that it hasn't had a
positive effect on our electricity bill also.
Hope this helps!

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] Museum lighting
This subject may have been discussed before but I'm going to ask the
question anyway.
Global warming is a high priority topic these days and will become even
more so in the future. Currently, I'm changing all of my light bulbs in my
house to the new kind that are more energy efficient and last significantly
longer.
Changing the lighting in my museum is a different story. Has anyone begun
to think about this and if so, is there literature available or does AAM
have anything available to help us begin this changeover in our workplace?
