The Upstate History Alliance (Oneonta, NY) seeks an innovative full-time 
Executive Director to provide leadership for constituent programs, with 
particular responsibility for building and maintaining strategic relationships with 
NYSCA, MANY, NYCH and other partners. The ED leads a small staff team to 
deliver a range of programs and services. Successful candidate will maintain a 
balance of working in the office, in the field, or from home as appropriate. 
Salary commensurate with experience; range $35,000-38,000/annually. A

Qualifications desired:
Leadership experience in non-profit arena • Track-record in management, 
budget development and sound fiscal operations •  Ability to work successfully 
with diverse groups of people • Demonstrated success in grant writing and 
fundraising • Strong organizational and technological aptitude • Proven ability 
to build relationships with members and organizational partners • Success in 
motivating, directing, and retaining staff, interns and volunteers • Proficiency 
at monitoring statewide and regional historical activities • Contacts with a 
diverse range of professionals and volunteers from historical societies, 
museums and public history agencies • Bachelors degree in a related field 
required • Master’s degree preferred.
