At the museum I work at we use Garamond 18pt. font for the body text and at
least 24pt. font for the title.  As far as mounting the gator board, you
could attach  attach picture wire to it and hang on the wall with a picture
hanger.  I did that for an exhibit that had 13 prints mounted on large gator
board, probably about the same size you are working with and didn't have a
problem.
