What's interesting about this project, which likely will guarantee its
success, is its strong marketing emphasis. In fact, the sponsoring
organization has split with groups that are arguing for a
scientifically correct creationism and a more academic approach.
It doesn't really matter whether the creationists are right: what
matters is that 42% of the US population adheres to the belief that
life has always existed the way it is now, while only 26% accept the
concept of evolution based purely on natural selection. There's a
market for the message that the CM is putting out, and that's all that
matters.
The museum itself is a charity. But closely aligned with it is a
for-profit publishing company that has a specialty in science books
with a religious perspective. In other words, the museum is just part
of a larger marketing strategy.
Creation Museum: Let There Be Loot
Having freed themselves from the bonds of both theology and science,
the promoters of the museum (which is organized as a charity) seem
mostly to be singing from the Walt Disney marketing hymnal.
