Christy,

If you do empty C-ration cans, etc., I suggest you do it from the 
bottom so the cans look unopened when on view.  Old cigarette and 
accessory packs should last indefinitely, since there is no food 
items in them (sugar, salt, TP, matches, etc., if I remember from 50 
years ago).  Perhaps you can slit the MREs up the back and restuff 
the package so it looks original.
