Subject: 1930's wedding dress cleaning

I am hoping someone on this list can assist. My cousin would like to
have her mother's 1930s silk wedding dress cleaned and altered so that
her daughter can wear it to her wedding. I haven't seen this gown but my
cousin was advised it was a museum quality piece. Can anyone advise the
best way to proceed in having this dress cleaned? My mother's silk gown
was ruined by a drycleaner so I do not think this is the best way to go.

If anyone could advise someone in the New York tri-state area that could
help I would be grateful.

Thank you,

Kristin Martin
