I would recommend that you do the mail merge from within Word. It's
easier, uses the Excel spreadsheet as the data source and everything
works perfectly. However, remember that in the zip code column you will
need to add an apostrophe before the zero in the zip code in order for
force the zero to print, otherwise it does get dropped.
When in word, TOOLS/LETTERS AND MAILINGS/ and choose LETTERS as your
output type. Select the data source as your Excel spreadsheet. Enter
the fields you want to merge from the selections.
Not sure if this helps, but works like a charm for me.
Regards,
Jane

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] ARE THERE ANY EXCEL EXPERTS OUT THERE--NEED HELP
Hi. I am in a real jam. We need to get our 2007 Annual Fund letters out
and
I have encountered a serious problem with mail merge. Are there any
experts
out there?
Here is my problem:
I have the letter already typed. I simply changed some details to make
it
relevent to this year's Annual Fund.
I went in to do the mail merge. I followed all of the normal steps. When
I
get to the "select table" box, I see the database I want to merge. I
clicked
on it, and then it went to another box that said "select table" but the
space where I should have been able to click on table 1 is blank. Has
anyone
encountered this problem?
Help please.
