When I was active they were just the Baltimore History Alliance, so they must have broadened their horizons. I do not know what they have done lately, but they used to do all types of cross-promotions and even programming. We even had a History Day Camp that was a bear to administer and I would not recommend.
Frederick Maryland also had/has a heritage or museum group that held docent symposiums and promoted as a group, but I cannot find them on the web right now and don't recall their actual name.
It's not as difficult as you might think, assuming that all of the museums involved are rooted someone in the heritage of the geographic area.
