Sadly, there can't be real water in the exhibition space...It would be
so much easier!

Is there some major reason you cannot use the real thing? It would
certainly be less expensive than trying to find something artificial,
which most people could easily tell is not real water.

Science, we used real water for the display's river--and had boats
traveling the river [pulled by another train with a strong magnet, under
the platform!].
