I'm not sure how helpful this one will be either, but it's worth a
shot...maybe look into supplies for fitness centers. If I'm picturing
the same thing you have in mind, I think these are pretty common for
aerobics instructors to wear.

Hi Beth,
Not sure how helpful this will be, but I think the Oregon Coast Aquarium
tried out a waistband amplifier in 2001. I don't know how long they used
them for, or which brand, or it they are still using them, but you might
try contacting their volunteer manager (541-867-3474 ext. 5315).
Good Luck.

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] Waistband
Hello All!!!
This is the second time I am sending this thank you to those who
responded.
My Name is Beth; I am a recent graduate from a museum studies program
and have just started a new job working for a museum in Manhattan as a
volunteer supervisor. Part of my job is to work on finding auditory
aides for the docents to use on tour. We are currently using Newton
Waistband Amplifiers. They are ok not great. Have any of you used them
before, if so do you have trouble with the batteries? If anyone has
suggestions on what products might work better. We are looking for
something not to expensive and not to heavy some of our docents can not
physically handle something too bulky
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
Thanks,
Beth
