The Arts Council of Northern Ireland has subsidized a traveling exhibition
through International Arts & Artists of contemporary prints from two of
Northern Ireland's most prestigious print workshops.
Renewal: Printmakers from the New Northern Ireland
A decade after the end of sectarian violence, 18 of Northern Ireland's most
significant contemporary printmakers present 36 works reflecting the styles,
interests and concerns of the "post-Troubles" years. Works were selected
from the Belfast Print Workshop and the Seacourt Print Workshop.
The exhibition is part of the Rediscover Northern Ireland program held recently
throughout Washington, DC, and was featured at IA&A's Hillyer Art Space in
conjunction with Northern Ireland at the Smithsonian, part of the 41st annual
Smithsonian Folklife Festival on the National Mall. The accompanying 80-page,
full-color catalogue (50 copies to each venue) defines the work, the artists,
and the unusual circumstances of the current Irish cultural and economic
renaissance.
Available: March 2008 - December 2010
Fee: $3,500 for 8 weeks, plus outgoing shipping
Size: Approximately 180 running feet
Security: Limited
