Our educator put on a colonial boys program which included lessons in penmanship, proper manners, and how to fence. We had swordsman from Colonial Williamsburg come down and teach the boys basic fencing. You might try a reenactment group, one that has a person who knows about guns. You could get fake wooden guns and teach the boys how to "fire" a civil war era weapon. Or get them to stand for muster.
