Registrar
For our important New York City museum client we are seeking a Registrar.
The successful applicant will supervise an Assistant Registrar, Cataloguer
and Art Handler and be responsible for the operations and budgeting of the
Department of Collections Management and for the implementation of approved
policies and procedures for the management of the collection and related
records. Duties include overseeing the museum's off-site conservation
center and storage facility; liaising and contracting with independent
conservators; supervising all incoming/outgoing loans; other related duties.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a
Collections Manager or Registrar, experience with collections and
loan-related insurance, a team-oriented outlook and excellent
communications, organizational and supervisory skills. Masters degree in
museums studies or similar required. Salary 50-60K depending on experience
