We do have a POS system but its very basic, a MS-Dos program that we use to keep track of gift shop inventory/sales. That's it. We don't even use it for vendor billing/payments, employee/member tracking, or accounting. It just prints out daily, weekly, monthly, yearly sales and inventory sheets. That's it. We would like something that could also incorporate admissions. We might look into the Quickbooks POS though.

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] shop sales
Hi Meredith-
I have also been looking for a way to update our small museum shop from
paper sales slip to something more modern. I have been advised that a
POS system is more than we need, and to think about an electronic cash
register instead. Others have suggested looking into the Quickbooks POS
system (I use Quickbooks for our financial program) Do you already have
a POS?
