Don't forget to look at your local used office furniture supplier or
similar. Clients have purchased excellent quality shelving for about 1/3
the price of the flimsy stuff new, and in quantities as high as 40 or 50
units. And being older, its off-gassing problems are over.

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] Shelving
Does anyone know a source for steel, open shelving units? Powder coated is
preferred but not essential. Last year I ordered extra shelves for "Economy
Workroom Shelving" from University Products. I ordered the 15 inches size
and
it turned out they did not fit the units we already have. And now University
Products has discontinued the 15" size. Does anyone know a manufacturer for
15 inch wide shelves? Leads welcome! Thanks! Mary Ames Sheret, Battleship
